Chris Banks

The man that was born about a decade and a half too late, Chris (or Banks as he is affectionately called by…well, everyone) was born and raised in Baie Verte, on the northeast coast of Newfoundland. During his youth, Chris was a member of his high school drama club, where he delved into roles as both sound effects operator and actor. He also tried his hand at some writing, helping create and staring in one of the first dinner theatre productions performed on the Baie Verte Penninsula.

He moved to Corner Brook in September 2001 to attend Sir Wilfred Grenfell College.  Since moving to Corner Brook, Chris has also held a number of jobs in the entertainment industry, including a stint with the East Coast Music Association, even acting as a jury member for the 2010 East Coast Music Awards in Cape Breton. Banks joined the K-Rock team in April 2010 and since then, has only found time to sleep during NHL off seasons and lock outs

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work? I watch a lot of sports…and, I mean, A LOT of sports. In fact, a common phrase heard in the Banks household is “How come TSN is ALWAYS ON?”

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Either to Ireland or to Wrestlemania. I haven’t decided which one to do first

If you could be reincarnated as anything, what would it be? A butterfly. No one ever suspects the butterfly!!

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose? Iron Man

Who is the biggest celebrity you’ve ever met? I met Bobby Orr right here in the K-Rock studios, which was a highlight of my life, even though I’m what some people would call a “dirty Habs fan.” I also met a bunch of WWE wrestlers in Halifax airport when I was 14, including the Undertaker
