Sarah Thompson

Sarah is originally from Grand Falls-Windsor, but with this move to Corner Brook has now lived east, central and west. Sarah graduated from the journalism program at the College of the North Atlantic in Stephenville and got her start in radio as an announcer for K-Rock in her hometown before moving to Sin Jawns to become a member of the newsroom and then the news anchor for -KRock Fort McMurray. She is also a published author in a book of short stories was released in 2012 from Engen Books.

In 2013, Sarah moved to beautiful, if forever snowy, Corner Brook and soon after became a member of the on air team for K-Rock where you will hear her prattling on with all the useless information that she knows about your favorite rock tunes.

Hometown: Grand Falls-Windsor, NL (this is the only easy question on this survey)

Favourite Band: Really? I can only pick one? I suppose I will have to go with MatchboxTwenty

Favourite Song: Anything by MatchboxTwenty, Barenaked Ladies - What a Good Boy, Anything Buddy Holly and anything but Pink Floyd.

Favourite Album: Big Hits '91. Only because I had to rewind and listen to Roxette - Joyride so many times as a kid that I wore it out. Aerosmith Pump is a great album.

The best concert I've Ever been to was...? I have had the pleasure of atending a lot of concerts in my life. I vaguely remember watching the Beach Boys play in Grand Falls from my father's shoulders as a child (Mostly I remember that Uncle Jessie was playing the drums), I was lucky enough to see the Barenaked Ladies in concert when they were touring Arts and Culture Centres to promote their debut album Gordon, but my most favourite is probably the trip I made summer 2013 to see MatchboxTwenty and the Goo Goo Dolls in Halifax.

Favorite Movie: Depends on the mood I'm in. I love any musical. If I want a rom-com, Bed of Roses and if I'm looking for something funnier, there is nothing better in my mind than The Wedding Singer.

Favorite TV Show: Why are these questions so hard??? Love the Big Bang Theory for the on the air right now category. For all time? I'm a big fantasy and sci-fi lover so Star Trek: TNG, Xena, Andromeda, Legend of the Seeker, Buffy the Vampire Slayer for sure!

Favourite food or meal: I love to cook and try new things, but there is nothing better than Jiggs dinner, especially if I don't have to cook it!

What do you enjoy doing while you are not at work: I was always an athlete, so I try to get involved in sports as much as possible, mostly I just watch old tv shows on the couch with my puppy.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go: I know that most people would pick somewhere exotic, but I have always just wanted to go to California.

If you could be reincarnated as anything, what would it be: A dog. Who wouldn't want a dog's life? Sleep 20 hours a day, someone feeds you and loves you and gives you treats, takes you for walks and cleans up after you. It's the dream!

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose: I'm Batman.

Who is the biggest celebrity you've ever met: Probably Dan Aykroyd. When he launched his brand of wine, he made a visit to St. John's and I had the pleasure of chatting with him about it for a few minutes while he signed autographs and shook hands.
